Saphire Sustainable Development (“Saphire”) leverages a broad range of comprehensive custom utility scale energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions including design, implementation, operation and complete project financing. Saphire is a leader in electricity, heat and cooling energy generation, designed to reduce emission and cut energy cost.

Saphire is a leading end-to-end full service clean energy solutions provider operating in the Central and East European (CEE) region, headquartered in Budapest. Saphire currently has industrial and state owned customers throughout the use of sophisticated business intelligence; strong vendor management, and highly skilled, motivated and service oriented workforce. The main operating assets of Saphire are in Hungary, but the Company is permanently reviewing business opportunities in Eastern Europe in particularly in Hungary, Romania, Poland, Croatia, Serbia and Slovakia.

Alfredo GOYANES

Company Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Goyanes, a Spanish national, joined Saphire as CEO in the middle of 2007. After graduating from university in Spain and completing an MBA at Columbia University in New York in 1986, he assumed leading positions with global investment banks. As Head of European Utilities Research of BNP Paribas, the global investment bank, he built a highly regarded and Extel-rated team. In 1999, Lazard, one of the world’s pre-eminent corporate advisory firms, nominated Mr. Goyanes as European Head of Utilities Research. In 2003, Mr. Goyanes co-founded Saphire Finance, a financial advisory firm based in the UK. Since then Mr. Goyanes has been an investor in the finance, energy and mining sectors.
Dr. András LENDVAI

Member of the Board

Dr. Lendvai is the founding partner of Lendvai Partners, a Hungarian boutique law firm specializing in M&A, TMT, IP and energy matters. He is a well-known specialist in his areas of expertise. Before establishing Lendvai Partners, dr. Lendvai worked as the Head of the top-tier ranked IP/TMT group of Linklaters Budapest (2000/2004-2008) and the Regional Counsel of Bird & Bird (2009-2011). He has been ranked several times as a notable practitioner by Chambers Europe (2013, 2014) and European Legal 500. He graduated from ELTE Faculty of Law in 1999 and was admitted to the Budapest Bar in 2003. He is member of the Expert Body of Industrial Property Law attached to the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office and arbitrator at the Standing Arbitration Court of the Money and Capital Markets. In addition to his native Hungarian, dr. Lendvai speaks English and German.
Andras Sombor

CFO and Company Secretary

Andras Sombor holds the position of CFO and Company Secretary. As head of the SAPHIRE Group's finance and accounting team, he assumes overall responsibility for reporting and audits, tax planning, monitoring the financial performance of projects and financial and tax due diligence on potential clients and projects. Before joining to SAPHIRE, Andras has worked 18 years for Bank Austria / UniCredit Bank Group, being responsible in different positions for real estate/project financing in the Hungarian corporate leasing division. Later he joined to Hungarian Saving Bank (Takarékbank) heading 5 years long the commercial real estate and project financing department.

Saphire has over 20 years experience in the industry. Our team of highly experienced and motivated employees and subcontractors has the technical , financial and commercial skills to drive successfully our business.

Saphire has comprehensive experience in clean and renewable energy generation with several year experiences in building and operating utility scale power plants. Saphire is a reliable partner if you wish to commission a large-scale green power system on your own property or lease your development site for that purpose. Our in-house engineering team will custom design your renewable energy system based on your facility’s architecture and your business’s projected energy need for the next 20 years. We design, permit, construct power systems to rigorous quality standards The dedicated project manager will plan out the installation and coordinate all team members, including the engineering design team, installation crew. The dedicated project manager will keep you apprised of project status every step of the way.
